Swiss precision meets a leaf.
She set a small timer when she handed me the pot. Two minutes, ten seconds. The pot, of course, was correct.
Swiss tea is what happens when a culture of precision encounters a leaf. The water was 70°C — she said so. The leaves were Uji sencha — she said so. The pour was clean. The second steep, she said, would be different, and it was.
I drank it watching the Limmat run pale green under the bridge. A tram went by exactly when it was supposed to.
